Homeowners, buyers and property owners

Structural inspections and reports, including for house purchases

We provide structural inspections and engineering reports where professional advice is required on the condition or adequacy of a structure, including before you buy a property.

What it is

We provide structural inspections and engineering reports where professional advice is required on the condition or adequacy of a structure.

A structural engineer's report is different from a Home Report survey. A surveyor's job is to look at the whole property and flag concerns. When something structural is flagged, such as cracking, movement, a removed wall or a sagging roof, an engineer is the person who investigates that specific issue and tells you what it means and what, if anything, needs to be done.

When you need it

  • Structural cracking
  • Movement or settlement
  • Defective or deteriorated elements
  • Alterations to existing buildings
  • Structural damage
  • Repair and strengthening requirements
  • Property purchase investigations

What we provide

  • A visual inspection of the issue and the structure around it
  • A clear, written report: what we saw, what we think is causing it, and how serious it is
  • Practical recommendations: repair, strengthening, monitoring, or further investigation where required
  • Plain English, so you, your solicitor or your lender can act on it

How it works

  1. Discuss

You tell us what's been noticed or flagged, and send any Home Report or photos.

  2. Assess

We inspect the property and the specific concern.

  3. Design

Where repairs are needed, we outline the practical options.

  4. Draw

You get a clear written report with our findings and recommendations.

  5. Support

We can design any repairs and answer questions from your solicitor, lender or builder.

Typical deliverables

  • Written structural report
  • Photographs and observations
  • Recommendations
  • Repair design if needed
